Mina de Guadalupe
Mina de Guadalupe sits in the Valenciana mining district of Guanajuato, a silver mine first worked in 1548. Its walls rise more than thirty meters, braced by buttresses shaped like elephant trunks, which is where the local name comes from, the Elephant Mine. Part of Guanajuato's UNESCO-listed heritage, it is a venue carved from the colonial mining history that built the city: stone, scale, and the weight of nearly five centuries.
