Casa Wabi
Casa Wabi is an arts foundation on the Pacific coast thirty minutes from Puerto Escondido. Its main compound was designed by the Japanese architect Tadao Ando, on the initiative of the artist Bosco Sodi. The name comes from wabi-sabi, the Japanese philosophy of beauty in the simple and imperfect, and the architecture follows it: a long minimalist palapa, studios, a 450-square-meter exhibition hall, set between the mountains and the sea. A working cultural institution before it's a venue, which is exactly the point.
