Jardín Etnobotánico

VenueOaxaca · Oaxaca City

The Jardín Etnobotánico is a cultural institution in the center of Oaxaca City, set behind the Santo Domingo convent: a living collection of the state's native plants, hundreds of species given by Oaxacan communities since the garden's founding in 1993. Its monumental agaves and columnar cacti, framed by colonial stone, make it one of the most singular settings in the country, less a venue than a piece of Oaxaca's biocultural heritage.
