Proyecto Público — Casa Barcelona
Casa Barcelona is a 1906 mansion in Colonia Juárez, its French-style façade of imposing windows and a heavy gate closing the house off from the street and opening, past the threshold, onto one of the calmest courtyards in Mexico City. Three wings and a raised terrace frame the open space, and a wall of hanging gardens and a single jacaranda set off the stone floors and the inlaid wood within. Restored by Proyectos Públicos, it reads now as the elegant private home it was built to be.
