Katy & Justin: An Olive-Green Wedding Dress and A Beautiful Alternative Ceremony in South Africa

Would you like to create a different and very authentic wedding? Surely an olive-green wedding dress will make a great statement.

For those looking for a good dose of wedding inspiration, this story will be a big favorite. Katy and Justin were married in an incredible ceremony in South Africa, and while every detail of that big day had a touch of magic, the wedding dress immediately stood out. Away from traditions and protocol, Katy chose an olive-green design to walk down the aisle, a look that made us dream like never before. In addition to the wedding dress being one of the aesthetic hallmarks of this wedding, the destination was also a key piece to make everything look even better. Katy and Justin chose Emily Moon River in Plettenberg Bay as the setting to frame their promise of love. The natural space became a true gem to behold, an ideal setting for all the guests to enjoy an experience like no other. One of the best parts, or at least one of the coolest details, is that the attendees were dressed in white to celebrate with the couple, an effect that gave even more prominence to Katy’s green wedding dress.

Because the wedding took place in February 2020, the couple was able to have several guests on their wedding day, all of whom were able to enjoy the panoramic views of the venue, the venue’s décor, as well as the details, textures, colors, history and even the photographs that were displayed in the corners of the venue. Each element managed to give a more interesting aesthetic sense to Katy and Justin’s wedding.

The ceremony was held outdoors. The field was decorated with antique umbrellas in a very “My Fair Lady” style so that the guests could enjoy a very special moment without being bothered by the sun. The textiles with bold colors, prints and embroidery were perfect for the decoration, as well as the arch in which they both said “I do”, vestiges of an ancient construction in tune with the surroundings of the place. A beauty!

After the ceremony, they both enjoyed a beautiful photo shoot in the fields of that wonderful place in South Africa. Each space made the olive-green wedding dress stand out even more, a design that, believe it or not, was inspired by the movie Atonement. Katy had the opportunity to go to India before the wedding and that’s where she was able to get the perfect fabric to make the ideal design for her look. The accessories were also a key part of her look, so the gold-toned crown she used for the perfect contrast is worth mentioning.

The decoration of the reception was accompanied by wood textures and a natural design with flowers in cherry and reddish tones. The hanging gardens in the atmosphere turned the place into a fairy tale.

The romantic atmosphere of this wedding was essential, as well as the alternative details through which Katy and Justin were able to design a celebration to their liking and with a unique personality.
